SEASIDE PARTY TIME
The Seaside Homeowners Assn. is organizing a 60th anniversary celebration next Spring (2010) for both the Seaside area and Seaside Elementary School, which opened in September 1949.  (Seaside Ranchos tract actually opened about 1947, so we're a little late.)
However, we hope to have a Spring event for both, featuring some history, reminiscences of long-time residents, memorabilia, old pictures, as well as a picnic, displays of old pictures and old cars, kiddie games, music, food, prizes, and whatever else anyone can think of. We might use both the school grounds sand the Sea-Aire Park area.

We're looking for names of long-time residents, remiscences, and pictures which show how the area used to be. (It was at the edge of a rainy-season body of water called Walteria Lake, which also covered much of present day South High and even at times, Hawthorne Blvd.) Email Tom Rische, HOA president, trrische@yahoo.com, or call (310) 375-0486.
TELL US. Who's the oldest resident? Who's lived longest in the area bounded by Sepulveda, Anza, Calle Mayor, and the west city boundary? What's the oldest business? Who's the most famous resident or former resident (the president of MGM)? Who began the Sleepy Hollow Christmas tradition?
